Sequoia Tutoring

Stephen has been working in education for over 15 years and tutors students for college and graduate school entrance exams, organizational skills, & writing. He is finishing his PhD remotely with Chicago Theological Seminary, and his research interests include the history of religions and the intersections of religion, politics, and economics. In 2013, Stephen moved to New York and has worked with students and schools across Manhattan and Brooklyn. He also recently began teaching courses at Montclair State University. Stephen works both with individual students as well as teaching group courses on organization and education skills. Given his experience inside academia, Stephen is able to help students set and achieve their academic goals. When he isn't reading, writing, & tutoring, Stephen loves to consume pop culture, especially music, movies, & TV. Bridging the all-too common gap between academic pursuits and students' passions is an important part of his approach to education.
