Does your child need to improve his or her standardized test scores? Are you looking for a master tutor who requires no homework and guarantees results? I can help. Working with high school students for over 17 years, I have developed a philosophy supported by skills and techniques proven to result in superb test results. We all move through the world with a self-image that sets what we believe we are capable of. This self-image often underserves our potential because it has been formed by a hodge podge of experiences, some encouraging and affirming, others anything but. The sense of self is malleable particularly in young people. Exposing their fears and doubts as more imagined than real and convincing them that they are much more capable than they think serve the all important self image in a very powerful way. It not only results in vastly improved test scores but also recalibrates the belief in what’s possible. As I work with my students, I never lose sight of my real objective. I may be helping them ace their standardized tests, but ultimately I am elevating more than just a score. Hope to hear from you soon,Mr. Test Prep History Established in 1997. After college, I moved to California and started working for an SAT tutoring company. Along the way, I saw flaws in its methodology and thought I could bring more successful strategies to the test prep process, strategies which I have been refining since 1997. To date, I have prepared over 1500 students. I Love what I do. Not surprisingly, when I was little and asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my response was not Astronaut or Policeman, it was “Mr. Test Prep”. One More Thing : I Love Basketball. Go Blue Devils !
I was raised in Rhode Island, where my parents ran a chain of popular nursery schools. Watching my mother, who was nicknamed "the Mother Goose of New England," and her positive impact on countless youngsters have certainly shaped my way of relating to both teenagers and adults. After high school, I attended Duke University on a partial music scholarship and graduated in '91 with a major in Psychology and a minor in Music. While studying Psychology, I learned that success in life (as well as success on standardized tests) is much more about the timely entrance of peak performance states than it is about any particular ability or talent. My education and continued interest in the psychology behind such performance states are key components of my approach to tutoring.
