College Match is one of the nation’s leaders in college and graduate school admission strategy. Our focus on real world outcomes separates us from others in our field of college counseling. We help college-bound students and their parents identify future goals and build toward that success by winning admission to the most appropriate colleges. For example, last year 95% of our students won admission to their first-choice colleges with a majority of our students also winning merit awards averaging $80,000 over four years of college. Perhaps the most important statistic is that our students are happy, fulfilled, and set up in their post-high school lives. History Established in 2001. In 2016, for the 15th year in a row, 95% of my students secured places at their first-choice college or university. My clients won merit scholarships averaging $80,000 per student–the largest amount among students whose awards are being measured. When I started, I was termed a “new breed” of college admissions consultant by The Washington Post/Newsweek for my use of business strategy techniques in positioning students for admissions success.I became the first admissions strategist in the USA when I created College Match in 2001. Prior to this I worked with admissions expert Loren Pope. I have 20 years of experience helping students select and get into the college of their dreams.I started my business after gaining a global perspective on college during my own university years. I knew the strategies I had learned through my business education had a practical application when it came to getting into school, not only when it came to HOW to apply, but WHERE.
I am committed to offer a calming, supportive presence in what can often be a harsh business. Clients have said many times how easy my team is to work with. While applying to college is serious business, I believe it can be enjoyable. Part of my role is to provide some much-needed stress relief to busy parents. I have contributed to articles to The NY Times, U.S. News & World Report's "Best Colleges" publication, CBS Moneywatch Blog, Seattle Magazine and Newsweek/Daily Beast. Media appearances include CBS-TV in San Francisco, Fox TV in Sacramento and radio shows and webcasts including NPR, Maggie Linton's SiriusXM show in D.C. and Boston's College Week Live, and I have spoken about my approach to admissions at Stanford's Graduate School of Business and University of Southern California. I received an A.B. with honors from Occidental College in Los Angeles, attended Trinity College, Dublin on a Rotary Ambassadorial scholarship. I later studied international law at Amsterdam Law School.
