Enlighten Tutoring and Test Prep

Heather is Enlighten's founder, curriculum designer, and resident ACT/SAT-prep enthusiast. She is proud to bring her years of experience as a private tutor, college consultant, and educational graduate student to work for the families in her community. Her teaching methods, developed under National Writing Project chair Dr Kathleen Rowlands, are characterized by a Socratic approach paired with undimmable enthusiasm, patience, compassion, and subject expertise (some may even say 'subject obsession!').She is passionate about helping her students access educational opportunities that may at first seem out-of-reach. In her home state of CA, she served a diverse clientele, including students with various learning differences (ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism), the children of immigrants needing English language support, and Ivy-bound students struggling to manage anxiety while balancing unforgiving schedules.Her passion and purpose is to help every single one, whatever their challenges may be.
