We specialize in math and science tutoring, as well as classroom teaching and standardized test preparation. History Established in 2006. Base Ten was founded near the top of a tall tree in South Eugene in 2006 by two graduates of the University of Oregon, Alex Lowe and Asa Tellschow. Both tutors had been working independently since 2003. They then decided to advertise together, which led to the creation of Base Ten. Since then, they have expanded to teaching mathematics and robotics in the local 4J and Oak Hill schools, offered workshops in natural building, mural painting, physics and math, and even started offering music lessons.
